We know how hard our business community works and so we’re always looking at ways to give them a break and look after their wellbeing.

Our chair massages, every Tuesday in The Exchange are the perfect way to relax, recharge reboot your productivity.

The relaxing massage is carried out while you’re fully clothed and sitting in a specially designed chair. No oils or creams are used so you don’t need to worry about going back to the office looking untidy.

Research by the Health and Safety Executive shows that 30.8 million working days were lost in 2020-21 due to work-related ill health and that workers suffering from musculoskeletal disorders took on average 15.2 days off work.

So, as an office worker, what can you do to ease your aches and pains and avoid problems down the line?

First, book a chair massage through PiP or the website.

Secondly, follow these simple stretching tips from Bupa to help you stay supple:

  1. Seated spinal rotation
While seated, cross your arms over your chest. Grab your shoulders. Rotate your upper body from the waist, turning gently from left to right as far as feels comfortable. You should feel a tension on both side of your lower back as it stretches out.
  2. Posterior shoulder stretch
Hold one arm across your body. Pull your elbow into your chest. You should feel your shoulder gently stretching.
  3. Shoulder shrugs
Gently lift your shoulders. Let them slowly fall. You should feel tension being released as your shoulders drop.
  4. Sitting back extensions
Sit straight with your feet together. Put the palms of your hands into the small of your back. Lean back over your hands, feeling your lower back stretch out.
